Originally established in 1871, Vine Cliff was one of Napa premier estates before Prohibition destroyed it. Charles and Nell Sweeney restored the property in the 1980s, replanting the estate vineyard on the eastern hills of Oakville. The estate Cabernet and Chardonnay are polished and consistent, and the caves carved into the hillside are impressive. A resurrection story that honors the past while making modern wine.
