“The winemaker behind the Judgment of Paris”
Miljenko "Mike" Grgich made the Chateau Montelena Chardonnay that won the 1976 Judgment of Paris, then founded his own winery with Austin Hills in 1977. The estate is now farmed biodynamically, and the Chardonnay, Fumé Blanc, Cabernet, and Zinfandel are all outstanding. Mike passed away in 2023, but his legacy lives on in every bottle. Walking through the vineyards, you can feel the history.
